Stitching fingers

Yep, the stitching fingers have been soooo busy the last couple of nights... my stitching angel projects are well under way!  Blue wren's nest was a fun project, I'd love to have the time to do more of these little ones.  Wonder if I could manage on just 4 hours sleep each night?

Bloss has her market stall again this Sunday at Cabarlah so the kitchen will be a flurry of deliciousness for the next two days.  As the official taste tester, I need to hang around.  Especially when the cookies n cream slice is being created.  Then there's the white choc jam filled lamingtons.  And the big fat double choc cookies.  The rocky road brownies are pretty good.  Maybe some melting moments too.  Mustn't forget the strawberry scrolls, fresh from the oven on Sunday morning.  Yummm.

Secret project under way

Last night I started the first project for my stitching partner. I love the fabric so much I want to keep it myself!  Here's a sneaky...

and I've finished block 6 of Noah's Ark... cute giraffes.

I have a hugely busy week, four customer quilts to finish plus a workshop on Saturday.  Must find time to play.... but first I have to handsew the (single fold) binding on a couple of coasters and pot stands (24 of them!)

Norman likes his new bed.....

Our new bedroom suite was delivered last week so the weekend became a flurry of 'out with the old and in with the new'.  It's divine, so pretty and looks gorgeous in the room.  Norman slept in for hours.....

Progress on the new quilt is pretty slow, but I hope to get a whole heap more done this Saturday at a workshop at Precious Time in Toowoomba

Had a few days off because I did something to annoy the laptop and it had to go for repair.... but it's back now and appears to have accepted my apology.

Everything cupcake

I've been making things for Blossie's next market stall and today was 'cupcake coaster' day... aren't they cute?  They will be accompanied by aprons and hopefully (time permitting) some hot pot stands.  She'll have all the regular home baked yummies as well as chocolate dipping sauce by the bucket load.... Blossie's stall is right opposite the fresh strawberries man so we've done a deal with him.   Mmmmm, strawberries dipped in chocolate sauce..... She sold out again last time, the only thing we brought home was a couple of big fat jam drop biccies.  Didn't last long.

Now to the important stuff.  Monday is the big day for the first Stitcher's Angel project to be released... can't wait.  

Too cold to do anything

I know I should just suck it up and get on with life but I HATE COLD!  Today the reverse cycle air con is on and set at 'fires of hell' and the gas heater is tumbling waves of warm across the floor.  The little wooden bird that lives inside the saloon doors has just reminded me that at 10.00am I should be bathed, dressed and beautified.  But instead I'm complaining to whoever cares that winter is not fun.  I know it's necessary, it's just not fun......

Enough whining, I have some doings to show.  A friend and I are planning a craft stall at the end of Sept so I've been busy trying to decide what to sell.  A few quilts, placemats and coasters and other little bits n pieces, I think.  Shaz will have loads of dolls, cushions and pincushions.

A must have...

There are 'needs' and then there are 'wants', these were definately a 'want'.....  How cute!!  One delicate little flower house for my quilting tape measure and one for my stitching partner, Shaz.  These were from Karen at Mrs Martins Quilt Shop, ordered last Thursday and arrived today....how's that for service?  Thanks Karen, they are even sweeter in real life.

It's always a bit exciting when the postie drops a parcel in the mailbox with the other paraphernalia.  AND ... if you haven't already spotted it...  Lynette's next Noah's Ark BOM is available, and it's my fave animal of all time.

As if I haven't got enough to do already

Yesterday I started a quilt.  I fell in love with 'At Water's Edge' by Blackbird Designs for Moda and just had to make it up for our new bed (hasn't arrived yet but apparently it's on the way).  The pattern is Southern Comfort from Cozy Quilt Designs , you need one jelly roll and some extra bits. This is the first block, I'll show you more as it progresses.

then I spotted this delicious co-ordinating x stitch print in the softest dusty blue - a set of cushions maybe?  Had to have some...

I had to share my excitement with someone so I showed Norman.....

as you can see, he was completely overwhelmed and jumped for joy.  In my next life, I'm going to be Norman, (but without the self grooming bit, my staff will have to take me to the parlour)
