and soak up the serenity of mother nature...

the simplest little flower can make me smile :-)

I hope you've enjoyed this journey as much as I have!  Who'd have thought a simple sketch of a willow tree would become a door to open up so many new friendships :-)

This with you all....

Kim emailed me with a  photo of her completed Verandah Views mini quilt top... How gorgeous is that??  She used 'Willowberry Winter' fabrics for her sashings and borders - Beautiful!

And Loralynnhas made her 'Sewing Companions' set - in pink and black, ooh la la... go have a look :-)

I've been busy quilting - again!!  Here's the proof....

Do you see any quilting?  No!!  That's because the whole quilt is ditch quilted... every seam (and some radiating lines in the outer border quilted with charcoal thread so it hides).  And that just lets the gorgeous fabrics shine  :-)

Now for some REAL news.....  This week is soooo busy.  The Gum Tree Designer's giveaways all close tomorrow and the winners will be revealed on Thursday - except for Paula who is in hospital and had her draw today - go check it out....  her hospital room overlooks a stand of Aussie Gum Trees - how perfect!!  When the wind blows they all wave to her....

And because this week is soooo busy, Verandah Views block 10 - the final one - will be available tomorrow.  That's a day or two early because I know the end of the week will be even busier  :-)   It's a bit sad that this fun little project is coming to an end... but I have some great ideas to share with you in 2010... including another FREE BOM stitchery

Who could go a parfait?

ME!!

Bit delicious?  You bet...  And the simplest quilt to make using the disappearing 9 patch technique

She's quilted with 'Fragrance' through the centre, separate border with some ditch quilting around the narrow border - precious!!  And of course, it's made from Aviary... say no more...

You'd never guess

Seriously... would you have guessed that the funny little man is going to 'build' me an artists easel?  And that he's going to use this as the foundation....

Of course, you can imagine how excited I am about all of this.... I can hardly sleep at night!!!  :-)  Gotta love him though... he's a bit cute, snores n all.  Stay tuned... it will be an interesting process... and there'll be evidence...

Last night I finished stitching the little Verandah Views label, toooo cute!  You'll see it in all of it's gloriousness next week

Today I'm quilting... well, the spirit is quilting while the body fusses and plays with threads, buttons, bells and other bits n pieces of fluff n mush... (but I should be quilting)

Block 10 of Verandah Views is only 1 week away.  That's the final installment!  In a way, it's the boring one... just the final borders, quilting and binding....  Hmmmmmm... a little too boring :-)  So let's add another little stitchery!!

Every quilt needs a label  :-)  and this one is going to be sooo cute!

Life's back to (almost) normal...

Craft fair is over.... phew!!  I filled my stall with loads of stuff and brought home only a little bit of stuff so I think that says it all :-)  And the 'basket of bodies' was empty at the end of weekend....

The Geham girls (and their menfolk!) do a fantastic job planning, setting up, running the show, supporting the stall holders and the visitors and then packing it all up again.  Three cheers!!!

I caught up with Perri for a quick chat on Saturday.  She's expecting...  No, not a baby, a huge bundle of Aviary to add to her stash!!!   I LOVE Aviary... wish I was Perri.  She's making the Breast of Friends Quilt from... you guessed it.... Aviary!!  Delicious....  there are photos on her blog for you to drool over :-) 

Toowoomba is so pretty at this time of the year, Springtime (September) is our 'Carnival of Flowers' and this year is the 60th anniversary of the annual event.  Yesterday morning the funny little man and I went strolling through some of the exhibition gardens - I had a few hours away from the fair.  It was delightful and the funny little man came home full of ideas for his gardens.  Good heavens, wonder what he'll create next?  Stay tuned.... I'll sneak you some photo evidence :-)
