Still a chill in the air though... who cares! Winter is over and that makes me smile :)
Let's catch up...
A week in the tropics - warm and sunshiny and shorts and t shirts and rubber thongs. Here we are strolling along the beach near the Daintree occasionally dipping our toes in the waves. It was delicious
Crocodile spotting on the Daintree River... this cute little fella was only 3.5 metres long...
And lots more walking along beaches, sitting by the marina and watching the sun go down in paradise...
now we're home again... back into the swing of things and the short break is a whole bunch of happy memories
Funny Little Man is up to all sorts of nonsense in the back yard. Soon we'll have two new chooks and apparently they'll be named 'Milli' and 'Vanilli'... I know... let's just humour him for now
Turf is down...
Hen house, vegie plot - carrots, peas, lettuce, onions, herbs - and shade house are done... and a couple of climbers planted to screen it off
A special little corner for the big pot that once housed the firewood... a relic from once a upon a time when our old house had a fireplace
full of Allysums, Dianthus and a pretty Azalea... and one of Mum's little handmade treasures, a pair of ceramic birds hiding midst the flowers. It's the simple things

Speaking of birds... remember Felicity Finefeathers?
Sitting midst the flowery boughs in her cape of blueness... Felicity has been tucked away for almost a year, I found her yesterday and thought to myself.... 'Why not share?'
If you'd like to stitch your own version of Felicity Finefeathers, the design sheet is available to download by clicking on the link below. I've provided two alternate DMC stranded cotton colour selections - one is a bit brighter, the other is softer and matches 'Garden Party' by moda beautifully. Or simply choose your own colours... you'll need a green, a pink, a blue, a yellow, a red and a tiny bit of black or charcoal for Felicity's eyes. Stitches used? Whatever you wish! Some backstitch, some lazy daisy (or detached chain), some french knots... use two strands or one... just have fun with it!
Don't you reckon she's a bit flirty and cute??

Add a couple of simple borders, quilt it, bind it and pop it on a wire hanger. She'll brighten your day! Shaz made one and it became a beautiful cushion, the perfect gift for her beautiful mum-in-law :)
Let me know what you do with your Felicity Finefeathers
On another designing note, my 'Stitchin' Bug Set' will be printed and ready for action next week... If you lurve ladybugs you're in for a treat! There's a hint of colour shading, some beautiful fabrics and a delightful garden setting for our lady friends...
A tote.. or a very special library bag for your very special little girl (thanks for the idea Jude!)
Needle Keep... (but not just your ordinary 'run of the mill' needle book.. this one has a secret inside)
and ... scissor fob...
Too cute for words :)
