The original post has been removed by me
I wrote it as a reminder to people out there that the stuff I create is mine, covered by copyright... a reminder that even an idea, when copied, should bear a reference - in writing - to the original source
It's the polite thing to do
I removed the original post because it had the desired result :)

Stealing sucks! It seems to be going on a lot lately. I guess these 'thiefs' count on the fact that they won't get caught. DId you think about sending the person an email telling them to take it down?
Sucks. :(

Its been a while since I have gone blog hopping and was so very upset to hear this has happened to you too Cheryl. It really gets your anger up and you could just throttle them and it does make you wonder that they who steal others designs have nothing much going on in their heads except thoughts of themselves. I hope it wasnt the one who stole my designs too? But then again it wouldnt surprize me. Hope you are feeling better about it all now. :) Hugs Vicki x

You know, I'd hate that, too! I guess you can figure you've hit the big time when people are stealing from you. If you really want to see a positive. I'm so proud of you for not swearing (horribly) and yelling online, but I'd completely understand if you had.
However, I LOVE the creativity you poured your energy into, and when that is available, I want it!

Ditto
to ALL of the above.
She's not worth you wasting negative energy on - but it's GREAT to vent - and know EVERYONE is on your side!

I'm so sorry something like that has happened to you. As Ruth said, you are so generous with your creative genius!

Well done Cheryl on keeping your cool. I know I would have said a few choice words!! There was a lady on another site who had something similar happen. I wonder if it was by the same person.

This is not fair !!! I can understand your anger ! You're right to swear and yell !!
This is a real problem : who can be trusted in the web ??? (that sounds good for a book title) I hope you still will show us and share your wonderful ideas !
Hugs

Right Cheryl, who's the guilty person? I've got a good mind to send my big brother round to sort them out!! I'll be right behind him saying the naughty words for you. It is disgraceful that they have the audacity to pass up your pattern as one of there. Please tell us who the horror is. We'll sort them out for you.

How terrible! And yes Joy, it IS stealing. And you are so right Country Princess--what goes around, comes around, Karma will get ya! Cheryl I adore the Laugh, Love, Create. It will be made into a wall hanging here in my sewing room. I don't know what that style is called where you are, but here it is referred to as Shabby Chic. After YEARS of trying to fit myself into a more modern mold, I'm letting me be ME and I'm Shabby Chic to the core!

Oh PooBum! Sad sacks to the poor person who can't do their own stuff. You have such a look and they must love it. I am just so happy to use your designs ( and everyone elses) and admit it! And I use yours a lot. Keep on doing what you love.
Posted by: Chriss Jasper | January 29, 2012 at 09:36 PM
Who did that to you???
It's as bad as stealing. So very unfair.
Go ahead and swear, I won't tell anyone - Grrrr!!
Big hugs,
Joy xxx

Oh Joy, you are a treasure :) and yes, it does feel like something's been stolen! don't worry, I did a little swearing...

Hey Cheryl! Sad to hear one of your designs has been copied. As a designer, I know designs are like our children that we pamper and spend hours working on, so to have one copied and claimed by someone else is so disappointing. On the positive ... I love your sewing pretties done in Rural Jardin ... I've just made myself a new handbag with some RJ charm squares I'd been hoarding ... love them! :0) Hope your week includes lots of fun stitching time. Bear Hugs! KRIS

Hi Kris :) You're so right... our designs are like our babies.
Thanks for the positives though, would love to see your handbag - popping over to your neck of the woods to see if it's on your blog.

Cheryl,I am so sorry to hear that one of your designs has been stolen. It seems that this has happened to a few of our designers the past couple of years.Hopefully people will recognise it as your pattern and refuse to buy the other person's. You really have been so generous sharing your beautiful work with us and your free designs. Please don't let it eat you up , it is not worth getting ill over. Angel hugs.

Hi Ondrea :)
Thanks for the positives... It's just disappointing that there are less than honest people out there. Won't stop me from sharing though!

It's ok Andy said he will say that naughty word for you - several times in fact. Not cool-they better look out for karma. (Obviously they are not good enough to come up with their own ideas) xo
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
thank you country princess :) and thank Andy, I feel much better now that he's said those words on my behalf!
Mmmmm....you've got me wondering. Which of your wonderful ideas was stolen? You give so much away to us for free and then someone takes your idea? So sorry Cheryl. I would not be offended by some swearing on your part. Just so you know.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ha ha Ruth... just so you know... there was a little bit of swearing involved :)
